Company Profile - Maxis Berhad

Company Profile: Maxis Berhad (6012)

Maxis Berhad is Malaysia's second-largest mobile telecommunications company by subscriber count, and one of the most established players in the industry since 1995. But Maxis is more than just a phone company - it is undergoing a significant transformation from a pure mobile operator into an integrated telecommunications and digital infrastructure player. This means Maxis is no longer just selling mobile connections; it is now deeply involved in national 5G infrastructure, fiber broadband networks, enterprise cloud platforms, and major government infrastructure projects.

The company is Shariah-compliant ✅ - certified by the Shariah Advisory Council of the Securities Commission Malaysia. This makes it a suitable choice for Muslim investors who prioritize halal investments.

🏗️ DNB Privatisation (March 2026): Maxis completed its purchase of the Ministry of Finance's stake in Digital Nasional Berhad (DNB) for RM327.87 million. Maxis is now an equal co-owner alongside CelcomDigi and YTL Power in managing Malaysia's national 5G network.

With cumulative DNB investment of ~RM1.1 billion, Maxis has positioned itself as a core stakeholder in Malaysia's 5G ecosystem.

Ownership and Management
