ENGTEX Group Berhad is far more than a pipe distributor. It is Malaysia's leading water infrastructure company - positioned at the heart of the government's ambitious plan to tackle the country's Non-Revenue Water (NRW) crisis, which stood at 36% in 2021 with a national target to bring it down to 15% by 2049.
Listed on the Main Market of Bursa Malaysia, ENGTEX records annual revenue exceeding RM1.4 billion and operates through four business segments:
| Segment | Core Business | Revenue Contribution (est.) |
|---|---|---|
| Wholesale & Distribution | Pipes, valves, fittings, plumbing materials, steel products | ~45% |
| Manufacturing | Steel & ductile iron pipes, fire hydrants, industrial castings | ~49% |
| Property Development | Amanja project (98.2% sold) | ~1% |
| Hospitality | Hotel business | ~1% |
Investors tracking ENGTEX will have noticed that NAPS (Net Asset Per Share) appeared to drop sharply from RM1.89 to RM1.07 between Q2 and Q3 2024. This was not a destruction of value - it was the result of a 3-for-4 bonus issue announced in June 2024 and effective August 2024.
Simply put: for every 4 shares held, shareholders received 3 free bonus shares. A total of up to 414.3 million new shares were issued. As a result, NAPS and EPS figures were recalculated on the larger share base - figures before and after August 2024 are not directly comparable without adjustment.
✅ ENGTEX GROUP BHD is a Shariah-compliant stock verified by the Securities Commission Malaysia's Shariah Advisory Council.
In 2024, ENGTEX acquired 40% equity stakes in Englen Manufacturing and Englen Metals from Lee Wee Kok for RM2.65 million, strengthening its position in the steel products value chain.
