Company Profile

Omnicom Group has just completed one of the most transformational deals in the history of the global advertising industry. On November 26, 2025, Omnicom closed its roughly $13 billion all-stock acquisition of Interpublic Group (IPG), clearing EU antitrust review along the way. IPG shareholders received 0.3440 Omnicom shares for every IPG share they held, leaving legacy Omnicom holders with 60.6% of the combined company and legacy IPG holders with the remaining 39.4%.

The result: Omnicom is now the world's largest advertising and marketing holding company by revenue, with pro forma revenue exceeding $25 billion, ahead of Publicis Groupe and WPP. Management is targeting $750 million in annual cost synergies through cost cuts and an AI-led reorganization built around Marcel, Omnicom's internal AI platform connecting more than 90,000 employees across the combined network.

The combined company now reports its business in five categories. Integrated Media (media, data, commerce, CRM, and content automation) is the dominant segment at roughly 52.5% of Q2 2026 core revenue; Advertising (traditional creative) contributes about 15.7%; Public Relations around 11%; Experiential and Other Services around 11%; and Health about 9.3%. Integrated Media is clearly the growth engine of the combined business, reflecting the industry's broader shift toward digital media, data, and precision marketing.

Leadership is anchored by John Wren, 72, who has served as Omnicom's CEO since 1997 and Chairman since 2018, and who co-founded the company back in 1986. Philippe Krakowsky, formerly CEO of IPG, now holds the Co-President and Co-COO role at the combined company, a signal that this is intended to be a genuinely blended leadership team rather than a one-sided Omnicom takeover of IPG's people.

On Shariah compliance: Omnicom Group is classified as NON-COMPLIANT in US-stock Shariah screening references. Investors prioritizing Shariah-compliant portfolios should factor this in before considering a position.
