HE Group Berhad is the holding company for Hexatech Engineering Sdn Bhd, a specialist electrical engineering contractor with deep expertise in the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of High Voltage, Medium Voltage, Low Voltage, and Extra-Low Voltage (HV/MV/LV/ELV) power distribution systems. In plain terms, when a major data centre or industrial plant needs to be connected to the national grid and fitted with full internal power infrastructure, this is precisely the kind of work HE Group undertakes from design through to handover.
| Segment | Description | Estimated Contribution |
|---|---|---|
| Power Distribution Systems | Design & installation of HV/MV/LV/ELV for data centres, industrial plants and commercial buildings | Dominant (~80%+ of revenue) |
| Hook-up & Retrofitting | Connection and upgrading of existing electrical equipment | Complementary |
| Building Systems | Mechanical, instrumentation, civil and structural systems | Mid-sized contribution |
| Electrical Products Trading | Supply of electrical components and equipment | Project support |
Over the past few years, HE Group has successfully repositioned itself as a key player in Malaysia's data centre supply chain. According to Phillip Capital's coverage (mid-2025), more than 80% of the company's tender book - valued at RM675 million - relates to data centre projects. Malaysia, particularly Cyberjaya and the Johor-Singapore corridor, is experiencing a surge in hyperscaler and colocation data centre investments, and HE Group is exceptionally well-placed to capture this tailwind given its specialist electrical expertise.
HE Group Berhad was listed on Bursa Malaysia's ACE Market on 30 January 2024. The IPO provided the company with a platform to access public capital to fund capacity expansion and working capital requirements for large-scale projects. All operations are conducted through its single wholly-owned subsidiary, Hexatech Engineering Sdn Bhd, which brings an established track record and client relationships built over many years prior to the IPO.
In June 2025, the company announced a proposed transfer of listing to Bursa Malaysia's Main Market, with Alliance Islamic Bank appointed as principal adviser. If successful in H2 2025 as targeted, this move would open the company to a significantly broader institutional investor base, including funds mandated to invest only in Main Market securities.
